What is Shane Melaugh, Challenge 44?

In a nutshell, it is about improving productivity.

When does it start and finish?

Challenge 44 is a ninety-day program. Broken down into three segments.

Phrase One

Pick one skill and publish thirty content pieces in thirty days.

Phrase Two

Aim to produce ten content pieces in thirty days

Phrase Three

Aim to produce ten content pieces in thirty days

Phase One

In my case, I choose to produce three videos scripts and publish three videos for my home page website. The remaining twenty-eight days I will select to publish blog articles.

The maximum time four hours per day. I must admit to date I have not managed to achieve that. But I am caring for my mother suffering from vascular dementia. Which means I must stop when required to attend to yet another incident. Or take endless washing out of the washing machine and put into the tumble drier.

However, I surprised myself on day three. I recorded the time I began. When I needed to break to provide care. And when I restarted my task. I had taken just under four hours. I have to say on day three I was pleased with the result. My website Microsoft Power BI video page video.

Incremental improvement. A long way to go nevertheless progress. But that is my own assessment. I am my own harshest critic. In my own mind, I always emphasis the worse elements. I think my mindset was set at school. I was always told I would never amount to much. But all my teachers did fail to identify I was dyslexia. I only discovered that in my later forties.

Phase Two

I should aim to produce ten content pieces in thirty days. The extra time, write better copy. Also, change the preference style. For example, if nature inclination is to publish articles that are factual. And rather academic add humour. In other words, move away from your natural comfort zone.

Phase Three

Publish four content pieces in thirty days i.e. one per week. This phrase is about producing truly remarkable content.

Which content types to publish

Articles, video scripts essentially producing remarkable outstanding pieces or content. Inevitably writing remarkable content within the four-hour limit is a significant test. To date, I have never been able to do this. For example, my article ‘The ultimate hotel housekeeping audit app guide’ took just over a week. I did not spend every minute of the day, but I did spend a few hours every day.

Challenge 44 requires me to publish whatever I produce. Regardless of whether it is finished or not. That to me is the hardest bit of the challenge. It brings back schoolboy memories I would rather forget.

By the end of the challenge, I should be able to publish a worthy article in an hour.

Who benefits?

Hopefully, you the reader, viewer, listener.

How does challenge 44 improve content?

The objective of the exercise is to increase my skill level rapidly. All being well my future copy will be compelling, and compassionate.

At the drop of a hat copywriting, that's persuasive, impactful.

Building your own Power App, BI solution, or automated workflow can be a mind-blowing experience. It can also be a nightmare. Particularly when you begin with a blank screen. My advice, get professional help as and when you need it. That's what successful people do.
